WHY I’M RUNNING
I’m Mayor Cavalier Johnson, a life-long resident of the City of Milwaukee. My prevailing commitment to community service and this city began at 14 years old with the YMCA’s Sponsor-A-Scholar program for MPS students. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to making Milwaukee better for future generations.
I’ve been honored to serve as Mayor since late 2021, and I am proud of the progress we’ve made together for the betterment of our city. I hope I can continue to earn your support.
In April of 2022, Mayor Johnson was elected as the forty-fifth chief executive of the City of Milwaukee, with more than seventy percent of the vote. He is the first Black Mayor elected in the city, and only the fourth elected mayor in the past sixty-two years.
